Creative Consulting: “The Ideas Woman”

I started my career in marketing toward the end of college, working for free, taking on clients to gain exposure and exercise my creativity. After graduating from Temple University with a BA in Communications, I lent my skills and experience to full service communications firm AOI Events and PR as the Business Development and Creative Services Director. In addition to being onboard with the AOI I’ve worked with Women In Media Global since its inception in 2013 serving as an assistant, committee member and now as the Board Chairwoman. I’ve been graciously awarded with The Leadership Award by WIM Global and received multiple citations from the city of Philadelphia for WIM Global, Global Entrepreneurship Week Philadelphia and like community involvement.

Retail Industry I spent 13 years in the Retail Industry learning and developing as a salesperson and store manager. I worked in retail straight out of high school and was given my first Assistant Manager job upon graduating college at age 23. By age 25 I had my own store and was pretty clear on the basic operations of managing a business, but I knew that I wanted advancement beyond a store front.

I have a two year old son who has changed my life completely. He has instilled in me a motivation and drive I have never had. It’s a job I expected the least and love the most.

Kaleb has inspired various business endeavors. I can’t wait to teach him about entrepreneurship and ownership, early!

“I’ve come to realize that my time is way more important than money. Financial freedom is a goal but living in the moment with my son and the people I love is a constant.” —Kendra J. James
